How does Therapy Work?
I view therapy as a collaborative process between the therapist and you that is designed to facilitate growth and change through a deep understanding of yourself and your behavioral patterns. Therapy takes place in a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral, and nonjudgmental. Through this process of talking, being witnessed, and noticing what’s happening internally, you’ll learn to identify and change your thought and behavior patterns.
Therapy helps you to create new neural pathways through consistent and positive behavioral, emotional, and thought changes. By the time you’re done, you will have addressed the problem that brought you in, and you will have learned new skills so you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.
